After some trying I got in touch with TE, he made this helmet and hand finished it especially for me and as requested.

It is also an interesting helmet with regard to no future helmets.

Here are extracts from some emails, i have deleted personal details but as they are mine I do not see a problem.

Re: Hey email day behind
Be prepared that this helmet is scary accurate. It has missing paint like the real ones and people that have seen me making it have asked if it is real. It is that accurate!

TTYS!

Hey Graham. I can do one for you for that amount. I have 2 helmets
left I can sell. one is the one I am offering to you, and the last one
is the one that will be auctioned off.

I can do the helmet for (price removed) and that will be shipped. I will
finish it 100%, trimmed, with lens material, chin strap, foam and the
proper colored primer on the inside. The details will be hand painted
like the originals and the mic tips will be hollow and have the
screens added in.

Thanks again and let me know how you would like to pay. I am working
on some helmets now, so please keep in mind that I will need to finish
these before I can do yours and the wait will be 4-6 weeks...

Thanks again..

Graham- This will also be signe as the very last TE helmet ever made

Hope to hear from you soon.

Matt

As you can see it really has been done so close to the original.
It has all the runs and marks and has actually been vac formed in the HDPE colour plastic not painted.

I thought the inside was interesting too.
It is quite thin however but is only for display.

I won't tell you the cost :-), or my wife.

I actually never got the letter but I have all the emails so there is the correct providence for the helmet.

hope you like.

I have deleted any addresses.

Let me know what you think.

Regards

Graham

Others know more than me here, but it was on the original set for stun helmet, and is missing from most of the current helmet offerings that were derived from the original sfs. Others could shed light on whether it was removed to spot lineage of certain helmets or wasn't prominent enough in others' casts. I know that the new Laws helmet has reworked it back in.

Thanks mate,

I think TE owned the SFS helmet and this is what it is taken from, I may be wrong as to the particular helmet he had or what this one is taken from but it explains it.

My MFX helmets also have the indent but I will need to look at them more closely.

Many thanks

Graham

Congrats Graham.

It sure looks like it came from the/a SFS mould. Awesome looking helmet. :eek

Great acquisition! :thumbsup

Nice helmet. I dont want to start a huge debate but it does suffer from alot of alterations from the original source. It is somehow related to the SFS helmet but I am not sure how. Matt has claimed that it is derived from direct casts from the SFS helmet which is simply not true. I got to study this version of TE a lot as I once owned one myself. Sorry if it seems like I'm putting you or your helmet down. I'm just trying to share what I know about this helmet.

Did he add the red paint or did you? Thats a feature not often added to replicas and I am impressed to see even if it is a bit too much. I added that effect to mine and my helmet is the only one I've ever seen with that before yours.
Heres mine without the foam.

And btw, TE is a very odd character to put it politely. I would probably have to use both hands to count how many "last TE helmets ever" there have been.

Hi Midnight Trooper.

Matt added the paint and he mentions it in the email about correct primer on inside.

Many thanks

Graham

Agreed on all counts!

Nice helmet which should be enjoyed as the quality replica that it is. Some things are a little out like the waaay too deep red on the inside, the mic tips look odd, the tube stripes and decals overall are too shiny. But overall its a really nice helmet, I just dont think it could be confused with an original by anyone who knows the subject - so thats a bit of typical Matt overselling :lol

Like Midnight Trooper I dont believe its cast from the SFS (Dave Mandell's helmet) and like all the others is cast from the mould taken from Brian R's helmet.

Since Matt's had about 4 "last ever runs" I'll leave it up to others to believe whatever they like. I'm not wishing to start a fight nor wind anyone up - just want to make sure we get the facts clear.

Cheers

Jez

Thanks all for your comments and interest.

I am happy with it as I always wanted a TE but I do follow everything people have said and really only wanted it for the helmet.

i never knew about the inside and I am replacing the tips.

I think I will satin/matt coat the decals the stripes etc to tone them down.

Best wishes

Graham

Nice helmet and thanks for sharing pictures.

I would add some dirt if you want it to look more authentic. People always make the mistake of adding chips and paint runs but leave them gleaming white! These things get dirty over the years...
