I have some old pics if anyone's interested.
The first two are from back in Mar, when I hadn't been collecting very seriously for very long. (click for large image)

And then this is that same table about 4 months later after I decided that I wanted lots and lots of clone troopers.

I've since rearranged stuff a couple of times, to separate the themes and make them easier to see, less cluttered looking, and I started taking pictures of that a while ago, but then went on a spending spree and purchased several Gentle Giant items, a couple statues, some animated maquettes, and several mini busts. I'm still waiting for them all to arrive, and then I need to do some serious redecorating, as I'm all out of display space. I need to buy some shelves, and I'd like to get a mannequin someday so I can display my Royal Guard uniform (once it gets here). I'll definitely post pictures of that when it arrives (should be middle to end of next month). I also plan to join the 501st when it arrives.

That's a real nice and pretty extensive collection you got there... :thumbsup

One thing that really caught my eye was that drawing on the wall in the first picture of the heroes, with Vader behind them. Any additional info on that and who did it?

:cheers

Not really much info on the sketch right now. My sister-in-law gave it to me for Christmas 2 or 3 years ago. I don't know who did it, nor remember where she got it, nor how much it was - but I bet it was less than $20. I'd imagine it's a reproduction. I'll have to ask here about it the next time I see her. For living across the street we don't actually talk very often.

The cards next to the drawing are also kind of cool, and actually the item of second greatest age that I own. I'm not into vintage figures and the like, but I kind of like the cards. It's a set of 30 Topps cards, 5x7 in size, that my father-in-law bought me last year when I graduated with a BS. He found a complete set on ebay, in extremely good condition - they're Empire Strikes Back collectors cards, so about 25 years old. I have no idea how much he paid, and fear he may have actually paid a lot. My wife framed those seen on the wall, and I've been getting frames to display some of the other cards.

Since it appears there's now a thread for my collection I'll try and update it occasionally as I get new pics.

For those who like to collect figures MOC here's a couple pictures of my daughter Katie, who also like Star Wars toys.

LOL... seems she "likes" them in a different way than most collectors... as in eating them! :lol

Cool kid though... :thumbsup

I have no idea what those collector's cards are worth, but a complete set cannot have been cheap, imp. Sweet deal! :thumbsup

Yep, she's at the stage where anything that she can grab goes into her mouth. It's very cute the way she does it too. Somethings don't stay in her mouth as long, but she really liked chewing on that packaging.

A few more random pictures.

In an effort to reduce the load on this page, I'm moving the images to my blog.
The images originally in this post can now be viewed here.

Republic Commando Maquette #491 of 513 has arrived!

Again, to reduce the load time on this page, I'm offloading the images to this blog post.

Looking really sweet... you certainly got a lot of figures! :thumbsup

What I don't understand about the clones... why did they name them? Isn't the whole point with clones that they are without identity and therefore don't need names? And what's with the various outfits? Aren't they supposed to be a "faceless" army of identical units? Heck... the troopers in the OT were nameless... identical and only numbered, which is how it should be, imo, since a clone is not a person.

Sorry for the OT rambling. Just wondering.

I've not read the Republic Commando books, nor any comics, but from what I've been told they give themselves nicknames, and as a rewards system sometimes those names are 'offically' recognized. As you recall, both Obi-wan and the Emperor referred to Commander Cody by name in ROTS, so he had done enough to distinguish himself, that he is officially known by a name.

Or something like that.

Apparently, I made my review of the Gentle Giant Boba Fett Statue while these forums were less than functional.

To keep the load time down on this page I'm no longer posting the images here.
GG Boba Fett Statue Review. Image

Additionally, I took a few pictures of my various Darth Vader collectibles, and can be seen on my blog. Image

Let me know what you think.

That is a very favorable review of the GG Boba Fett statue... glad you like it. I think I would have liked it more if they hadn't made him stand in that "come and get me" pose, that is seen in cheesy action flicks from the eighties. However, in it's defense... GG has this thought of doing "in the moment" sculpture captures, like you mentioned with Maul's flowing cape. Really sad, imo - yes, it sets them apart from everything else... but is also making them look less natural, thus diminishing people's interest in them... at least it does so for me.

The detail and the paint job is great... but they could have done so much more and so much better, imo, with the pose - which is all this figure has against it... and possibly also a mix-match of costume and color from the two movies.

You got a nice collection of Vader figures. Imo, I'm more for accurate and normal looking pieces rather than stylized and Super Deform figures - I have never understood the need to get so much detail right on a figure that is warped and deform... it just doesn't make sense to me and seems like a huge waste of time... but... it sells... so maybe my aesthetic sense of art and commercialism is a bit out of whack. :lol

Looking real good! :thumbsup

P.S. and yeah... it really did blow when the forum was down and wonky... hope those days are over soon. :cheers

I have the chrome GG Vader and this Boba. It's my only Fett statue I own. Next to my Vader, Fett stands out better and all the little details actually make this statue better then the impressive and bigger Vader. I got this as a gift for Christmas and although not perfect or 100% accurate I believe this could be the best Fett around, Figure, bust or statue IMO. Very nice.

Will post pics tomorrow.
