I think the Royal Guard is considered a trooper so I hope this is the correct forum for this.

I've always wanted to create a life size Royal Guard and I think it's time I got started on this project. I was wondering if anyone knows who makes the best Royal Guard helmet? All I really know of is the Don Post and I hear it's too small.

MLC made an oversized Royal Guard helmet by cutting up a Don Post and adding material and putting it back together.

I know of a few others having done that too, but can't remember their names.

I know Customs Props makes one as well. Never actually seen one in person so i cant tell you quality, but its a decent price. I was thinking of picking up one from him in the future.

Yeah, that would be great if the costume props is screen accurate. Claudio is a great guy to deal with. But i dont know much about the accuracy of their royal guard helmet. May be someone here could tell us more about the quality of their lid.

I think MLC is his initials. You can find him on bikerscout.net

I think it is safe to say that no one offers a screen accurate helmet and most who sell helmets only sell modified Don Post sourced helmets. Though, maybe there was a custom sculpt, but I can't remember who did it...

You are right but the Don Post isn't a bad helmet, the look is great, but he is little bit too small to be really accurate. But if someone takes the DP as a basis to get the look and just make it bigger like the real one, it might be a good solution. I dont know the MLC but i like the look of the costumeprop Royal Guard. What about the Altmann. Didn't they offer a RG too?

Altmanns did have a Royal Guard helmet. From pictures i've seen, its looks pretty decent. Then again pictures can be deceiving.

I finally bought a fiberglass Royal Guard helmet on Ebay. I paid for it on the 4th and I'm still waiting for it. :grumpy

I emailed the seller a week ago and he said it shipped but there was a postal strike going on which was delaying things. It's coming from the UK.

I own an Altmanns. Its ABS, and larger than a Don Post. Very good lid. No padding, but is well made. Looks to be molded in two halves and then plastic welded.

DP is easyer to get ahold of, but its that dreaded vinyl...and small.

I had a FG lid from South America, Huge... Way to big. I sold it for the Altmanns. MLC is making an unpainted FG lid, I ahve a contact if you want to PM me...

I am a huge fan of MLC, I sport the V1 and V2 MLC Bikerscout. Great stuff.

I had heard the Altmanns was larger than the DP. Would you say it is movie sized? Heard something about him getting access to the real helmets.

Yes, MLC is a sure thing... constantly improving and updating. His Scout V3 is so close to the original, from what I can see that it's scary... just a few more tweaks and he's hit a home run, imo.

His initials. I don't know his full name.
