Hi everyone, I found something interesting in a french forum. Someone said he knows what is the Rotj cape hook on the armor.
These are the pics but the guy says he doesn't know where to have it. It's old.
These are the hooks for curtain I think.

If you want to have a screen accurate Rotj cape hook you should try to do something like that :

Interesting find. Could also look a bit like a coat hook from an old coat rack! :thumbsup

You know those seat covers you buy at the auto parts houses? They have hooks just like that on a number of different covers. They are used to clip around the metal frame of the seat.

Very good attention to detail!! I would have never noticed that. Is it the same on the ESB stunt armor?

Honestly, it looks like a brass coat hangers that's been cut short and then bent to resemble that. But kudos to the find and the screenshot because that means we can use unused unwanted coat hangers around the house!

I have never seen a pic like that from the ESB stunt armor.

I agree with CSMacLaren, I 'm sure one can do a such hook.
We just need to find the right piece and to bent it.
Anyway It could be better to find the right piece.

I've seen one in person on vader and I did one with a coat hanger prior to that, the hanger is way too big.....a big paper clip is more the right size metal. It looks big on the pic but in person you think....wow thats small.

Yes, the ESB stunt suit has the hook also.

Actually if you look at the picture above look at the three silver coloured hooks at the top in the middle, they are the same as the hooks posted by mikajedi but without all the gibbins on the back, which would make them alot easier to attach to the armour.

Yeah, I'd think that the top version would work just as fine... looks to be about the same size - the visible part, that is. :thumbsup

Very nice firebladejedi!

NHM, this is from the project I told you about......I made this from a big paperclip. I intentionally aged it. Crappy pic.....but thats all I can show.

Hi All
The hooks are from military uniforms in the UK.
I have one on my work uniform.
They are painted balck but are brass and are in fact used to keep the belt level when in Ceremonial uniform.
I feel quite pleased I found this :-)

They have been bent and the brass content was a little higher then as due to cut backs they are slightly lighter today.
Like I said I can get hold of these.
You would need to get hold of a say 1950-1970s Ceremonial Military uniform to be EXACTLY correct.
regards
Graham

Hey all

I took those two photos in mikajedi's post at the top of this thread -well one's from the SW roleplaying game sourcebook of course, but you know what I mean.

Yes, they are old curtain hooks. I found a handful in my house (hanging up curtains, suprisingly!) all of which were tarnished and brown like these but gave them away on the RPF a while ago.

You can still get 'em in the same style but of course the new ones are bright and shiny, not brownish and aged.

Jeremy

*EDIT

Should also add, good find gra30  they look spot on too!
