Hi Guys,

I just wanted to show some pictures of the Republic Commando Helmet that I got few months ago(unpainted). I still did not have time to painted and assemble. Actually I was thinking to mail it back to the prop maker who molded it, so he can painted for me like the one he painted for a friend of mine.
I am including pictures of mine, and pictures of my friend helmet fully assembled and done.

Looks incredible. How much was the kit?

Are those real scratches -- the thin ones?

That looks awesome... and the paint job too. I can understand why you consider sending it back to have it painted by him - it cannot go wrong, though... always get a price and make a deal up front to prevent any hardships later! :thumbsup

Btw: what is the visor made of and can you see through it when wearing the helmet?

Thanks for your kind words. Actually, I got the kit free. Couple of friend worked out a deal with the maker so we did not pay anything for them, we got four helmets, one painted and three unpainted. Regarding the scratches they a real, he did an excellent job. In addition, he gave us a tutorial of how to paint them.

The visor is made of plastic. Actually, the visibility is good. It also comes with a flexible light attached to the top of the visor so it looks illuminated like the one in the game.

How wide is the helmet at the temples (above the ears)?

It is about 8 inches at the temples ( 9 inches from ear to ear)

I hope this info helps you.

AJCG,

How's the fit? 8 inches sounds kind of tight.

The fit is pretty good, I do not have any liner inside the helmet but my friend added a foam liner and it is pretty confortable. I had an AP stormtrooper helmet and I felt that one more tight than the Republic commando helmet.
