Yes, it can be, depending what level of accuracy and proportions you want to achieve. Naturally, it will depend on how far you want to go. I've been eyeing some plastic garbage cans with dome push-lids. I've even noticed a Weber smoking grill that looks roughly the right size.

The thing that would need modification the most the body. You'd have to somehow cut it short and redo the bottom. You needn't craft a middle leg - just simulate the look when he has the middle leg retracted. That would help with the proportions of what you're achieving.

I have been informed to go to R2 Builders club. Which I will to get parts and more help if needed. Thankyou for the advise I shall give it a good go. Like you say the dome is there but the body will need alot of work. So it will be a while before it is ready. I want to try to get it as accurate as possible.

The R2 Builder's Club will give you some resources towards parts for building an accurate R2. Some parts may or may not be applicable depending on the diameter of your trash can. Ultimately you may have to decide what works and what doesn't. There may be some things you'll have to scratch build.

Good luck! :thumbsup
