Vadermonkey has a great talent for making something that people go, "Holy crap, is that a real prop?!!" While people are gunning for the "stepped of the screen" look (with varying degrees of success) I've seen Vadermonkey time and again achieve a "stepped out of the MOM exhibit" look quite well! |

Well here are a couple of shots of the final exhibit. I supplied them with measurements and pics of Vader along with pics of LFL's crappy displays to show the difference.....must have got them mixed up with the good reference stuff;) Anyway, I think he looks a little short....the dummys shoulders are super broad as if they sculpted the dummy with shoulders and then added more....seems to be the way all the mannequins are at EMP. He's super thin and things are hanging to low and I think that is giving off the illusion of a shorter stature. Anyway.....it was still cool to get to run my fingers across all of this stuff In case you cant tell, thats Lukes severed hand with the Kurts/Joiner saber. |

Dude, It looks FABULOUS. Yes, it looks short, but on the good side, it is proportionately accurate from the top of the helmet down to the codpiece. I don't know what's holding it up on the inside, but it is as if the legs were attached farther up into the pelvis towards the waistline. But most people are going to be focused on the upper half of the body, and that has been recreated properly to me -- at first glance. I think people are going to be more captivated by his presence and the WOW-factor than "you're a little short for a stormtrooper". |

You're right, people there were digging it regardless.....I think it is that the pieces are too low in relation to the piece above the next so by the time you get to the cod, its practically at his knees and he just looks short..... |

I think it's one of the best exhibit type displays I've seen of vader. Most "normal" people wouldn't even notice that he is short. Thanks very much for posting the pics. If you have more let me know, I'd love to have them. |

He still looks great! Maybe someone's been playing hip-hop in the off hours and it's influenced Vader......... |

Also, the platform looks about 12" to 14" off the ground, so he will have appeared taller than most exhibit goers. In this case, I'm glad they did shorten it, because that meant most adults could look into his face and see the idealized angle anyway. If he was too tall and raised an additional 12-14 inches off the ground, you'd see his chin and only his chin! That might be a good question to ask future exhibits, Monkey. "How far off the ground is Vader going to be displayed?" |

I think he looks okay. Not perfect, but definitely displayable! I think what you are seeing is caused by you being too close to the project... yes, what you see is correct, but it is exaggerated to the point that that's all you see... time to step away and let it take its own life. You did a wonderful job and thanks for sharing the progress and the finished result with us! |

The suit is just AWESOME! It's a shame they used that dummy, it's out of proportion. The legs are definitely too short. |

Nicely done! Does the write up for the costume say that the entire suit is real, or did they give you your deserved credit? JB |

The replica pieces are listed as such, and I was given credit...although that wasn't neccesary. I wish I would have had more time to make it better but hopefully it serves its purpose which of course is to compliment the real items:) |

What a great honor....terrific job, Mike! Do you think the capes are really the real deal? Those were the capes from the Christies auction, or? |

As others have said they did enough justice to the display compared to normal set ups. It still looks really good. |
