Here is a pic of my Original Studio ROTJ Stormtrooper helmet.

I have now removed all of the silicone, removed the replica ear and re-assembled the helmet as it should be. New pics to follow.

Cool. Do you still plan on casting it?

Hey Clutch

It's done! The moulds are uber sharp.

The mould maker works in the industry and is away on location for a few more weeks. We should then be able to get vac forming :as2

EDIT: I will be offering kits and assembled helmets, all re-cast proof with vac formed lens pieces.

Interesting point to note - you can barely see out of the original lenses, the distortion is very bad.

This HAS to be the one I have seen and commented on another forum... it just has to be... it just looks so great. It's a lovely acquisition and thanks for showing it off here too. It's not very often the community gets to see these nice RotJ helmets - even background ones.

The news on the molding and future helmets that are recast proof is intriguing.

Can't wait to hear more! :thumbsup

Can you post a larger photo? That thumbnail is so small.

Also, is there a photo of the helmet without the paint? The mouths of the ROTJ helmets have always bothered me, with their black outline like that. I'd love to see if a simple gray stripe can be painted on the inside to mimick an ANH look.

Joe,

What brand of moulding compound is he using?

You can't do an ANH paint-job on a RotJ... it's a very different helmet to the ANH/ESB helmets. :thumbsup

Thanks for the link NHM - I forgot about that!

On the compound I have no idea, I left the details up to him. I can find out when I see him next.
