The curve isn't much and it was switching back and forth for me today. The reason is the right side of the neck sticking out a bit too far. When you look at the curve between the tusk tubes on that side you can see the neck should be a little further in to follow the curve. However, the fix is going to be tricky, because I really like the curve you have on the neck. However, when you make the next cast, you could try and push in that side a bit when it is still curing or you could just cast it as-is and then sand the area. I think if that area is addressed it will automatically get the correct curve to the mask as the original. The fact that you even captured that in a free-hand sculpture is pretty damn amazing.

thank you very much, really very kind to explain to me! then the next cast will do it with a very thick layer of resin, so that I can smooth and correct the area! even the right haunch will undergo a small change, because for what I see it is too small near the nose! thanks again, very useful! :thumbsup

Hello everyone, I have no news on the mask, the temperatures here do not allow me to work with fiberglass, because I don't have a place where I can work! Today to continue the work I started the sculpture of the dome!

thank you so much! :toothy

hello everyone guys! yesterday I was able to print another mask, but unfortunately it came out with some flaws, so soon I will do another one! But I'm happy because putting some thickness out of the mold I managed to correct the neck defect a bit! :thumbsup

Looking really lovely.

A problem most sculptors run into when working on a Vader helmet from scratch is that they sculpt the dome separately and when they pair it with the face mask they find that they don't fit or look good together. I would actually suggest that you can use one of your face mask casts and then sculpt the dome on top of that in order to get the shapes looking right. You may even be able to do it with your current dome sculpt.

thanks for the suggestion, I will use the mask out badly to insert it under the dome, perhaps cutting it to make it stay in the right place! :thumbsup

hello guys, the mask is finally almost over, very few things are missing and I'll make another definitive mold! Meanwhile, here are some photos of the dome that is beginning to take shape, I still have to attach a piece of the mask to see how well it comes, proceed! :thumbsup

Looking cool. I can spot a few things on the dome. You need to lower the groove between the top of the dome "bowl" and the "skirts". It's sitting too high. Also the top "bowl" part needs to dip in a little bit just before it meets the groove. The "skirts" also needs a bit of work, but getting the groove position right first is more important before working on the those. This will give you that distinct profile. As always, if you have any requests regarding reference on the dome, I can send you some shots of my 3D models from any angle you require.

The face mask looks spectacular. Well done. :)

thanks always kind and helpful! when you can, I would like a side photo, front and back of an ESB dome thanks! I worked a little then two orette on the dome and looked at some photos from the phone, after the mask I will concentrate 100% on the dome! :thumbsup

Looking great. The mold looks nice as well.

Looking forward to seeing the dome turn out as great as the face mask. :)
