We need a way or someone to host the videos, so they will always be available. Vimeo seems like a good place to upload them, but do anyone have an account there or know of somewhere else? |

I use youtube for video uploads. They can be cluttered with outside ads, and videos can be removed without notice for copyright violations. Or the copyright owner can put their own ads into the video if they agree to allow it so they can monetize it for themselves (happened to me for including music tracks from CDs I own as soundtracks in a few videos). But all-in-all it's fair I guess. And we know Google-owned youtube will be be around for a long long time. |

So just for the sake of discussion, if someone started with a TD mask (which we know is very close to original ANH), could it be modified to look like the mask here? Are there particular tell-tale signs that distinguish this mask from the TD? |

Nothing much to add to this thread other than Arnaud Grunberg, the owner of the collection is indeed a multi millionaire. He is the administrator and co owner (family business) of the French equivalent of Toy's R US. He also owns several finance and real estate companies. (Seven in total). |

Most of the pics are large, detailed and clear ;). During my visit of the collection in Paris Girod told me that they are preparing a book about Star Wars - hopefully it will include more pics of the numerous original artefacts in their amazing collection. |

That is good to know, thanks! I also hope it will be in English. Anyway I'm considering buying the present book in the near future |

Forgive the crude comp, I was so excited to see it well preserved. There are a few more tells, but gents, that is the original. |

Hope this is OK if I post this here JKNO (pulling a photo from your post on the RPF)... OK! This may have been asked and I missed it, but if this is THEE screen used Vader Mask Then what is buried in the LFL archives vault - what did Gino see when he "studied" for the EFX (and his own personal) Vader helmet? |

From what I know EFX used the RB molds, or what is left of them |

I don't know enough about the RB mold - did it have the C-Scar? After seeing this mask, I just have this itch to see the mold. Does the text say (or anyone know) when Girod acquired this mask? How much of the mask is preserved in it's original post filming state vs. new markings/breakings? It's interesting to see the shape/line of Vader's left cheek - it doesn't have to beautiful upward/outward curve to a point as much as I thought. Seeing the black paint outlining the right lens, between the lens and bridge of the nose, and the black extending up under the eyebrow and below the lens just above the top edge of the cheek. These are painting details I never really noticed in the film - the lighting generally sucked. LOL ...also looks like the mask may have been repainted. I know - I'm a such a newb. |

Rick Baker created a mold from the original ANH mask sometime after shooting of Star Wars completed. The mold was used to create the ANH touring masks. The mold does have the indention of the C-Scar though it was omitted from the cast for the eFx limited/legend (was painted on instead). |
