Well, from those I'd say it's almost on par with the Marmit. Shouldn't the ribbing on the leather suit be a bit wider, though?

Looking at screen images from ANH and ESB, there should be about 7-8 "ribs" in the leather suit spanning the width of the chest control box. So I think what HT has is about right.

If you're comparing based on the David Prowse promo picture from the Hasbro Interactive game, that leather suit has much wider ribs than the screen used.

Seems acceptable for the masses IMO and would no doubt be popular.
Quite a few issues stand out if I'm being fussy but at this scale I seriously doubt they would give the deserved look to the ANH Vader regardless.

The good thing is that HT, unlike Sideshow, sometimes listens to customers and fans and make some improvements to their figures. not sure if this will be the case though...

Overall really nice, but the helmet still look way off to me.

The face mask looks decent overall, but the dome is all sorts of wrong. I did a photoshop manipulation of one of the posted pictures of the prototype over at Sideshow Freaks. It's not perfect, and the dome crown needs to be taller and slightly wider, but it already looks tons better.

Carsten, I sincerely hope you are still planning on making a 1/6 ANH Vader available.

The Hot Toys 1:6 Stormtrooper arrived. A very cool figure no matter its design and accuracy flaws.

Though I had my own problems with my figure: belt was half unglued, the magnets on the leather holster were both unglued and jumping in the box. I glued everything back much better than how it originally was. One cap of the thermal detonator fell off too, so I glued it and reglued the other one too just to be sure. The HT thermal detonator metal clips are crap - SSC ones are solid steel, much better, the HT clips barely hold on the back of the belt. The SSC E-11 blaster is still unbeaten till today, this is copied after it, but needs improvement, and not in making holes in the barrel. The ankle joints are sometimes visible. All this was not too encouraging to be honest. The figure is great, but QC is just like the thermal detonator clips.

Hot Toys is definitely starting to get a pretty big line of figures. I really like the Luke trooper.

I wasn't been impressed by HT's Vader so easy pass. Hoped for a good 1/6 Vader to replace my giraffe ANH Vader from Sideshow, but seems neither the new Sideshow ESB/ROTJ Vader nor the HT Vader are good enough as the ultimate 1/6 Vader. :(
