Note, that this section is still under construction, but you may want to check out some of the information and pictures that we have started to post. More to come!! (Along with updates on our other products!)

Thanks!

It is a great looking helmet. When EFX first got hold of it they contacted me and asked whether I was believed it was original (they probblay contactred several people). I was 100% certain from the numerous pics they sent me

Amazingly the source (who was "connected") allowed them to disassemble it competley hence were able to do such a great job with this

Cheers

I wonder if they will do a vac form Xwing as the FG is nice but it takes away from the real thing,
As for the hero aparently it will ber made using the same materials (or same methods at least) as the real hero,
Which sux! for me

Why does it suck to have the same materials and construction as the original ?

It sux because, it is very possible that only very recently there were molds found taken from what seems to be another of the 6 hero helmets, though these molds were taken from the outside of one of the hero helmets,
that had been sitting dormant for niegh on 12 or so years, only to turn up at relitively the same darn time as the EFX Hero was promoted ,
how ever after the enitial shock of that I guess it is a good thing, and it will also in a way be able to prove that the molds are in fact from one of the other heros because there are tells on the heros that were not translated to imagery well that will show up on inspection of the 2 if they are ever side by side

Ok I'll bite. You are saying there are moulds of another hero helmet but from the outside?
I have not heard about this. Can you give more details?

Yes thats what Im saying,
Ive told quite a few knowledgable trooper people , (whom I asked to keep it to them selves, ) , and shown them the pics, to get there opinions and it would seem they are from a TK Hero, ,They are old gel-coat fiber glass molds , they were taken from the out side of the skins there for they are now were near as cool as the EFX
I have been in the prosses of making first molds to makethe vac molds then pull a few pieces then I was going to show them to the greater public, but with the coming release of the EFX hero and things in my own life, the drive to get them out asap has been lost. I am still going to do so but as the fact that all of a sudden as coincidntly as it is the need for a Hero cast from a hero has all ready been filled Im not in as much of a rush to get mine out ,

So what is really stopping you progressing with this?

The more helmets available the better if you ask me.

Nothing is stopping me, as I said I totally intend to make them though I am not in as much of a rush and I also have little to no spare time at present , and things in real life have needed more of the little time I have out of work but when I do get the time I will make it happen

I agree! I don't know how far you've progressed but I would explore the possibility of doing them as a female mold vacuform that way you could capture all the details of the exterior of the helmet and they wouldn't be over-sized by the thickness of the plastic either.

Ive looked in to all the posiblitiys , though , since the gel coat molds, then there are 2 silicon molds, one a positive and the other a negitive then the actual forming tool , its possible there may be slight (from the gelcoat molds if any thing as the silicon Im using is platnium) shrinkage only very slight but possibly enough that it will make up for the 1.5ml thickness of the ABS Ill be using.

though this is getting OT so ill make a new thread in the near future
