Fascinating find! Can we verify that this product has remained essentially unchanged for the last 25 years, or should we assume that the one used in ROTJ is a predecessor of this current version?

(If you don't mind me butting in) yes Vader, it does seem that the airflow collar is mostly unchanged.

The only major difference is on the 'thumbscrew' wheel in the middle at the back. Originally, the part you turn to adjust the collar's height was knurled (cross-hatched) but modern ones are milled (vertical grooves). They were always plastic though, just painted a metallic colour on the ROTJ original.

Gladdus63 on the RPF has machined some superb aluminium replacement thumbscrews with the correct knurling on them (for the perfectionists amongst us!) They're easy to install, if you turn the plastic thumbscrew too far it comes off.

And Guido is right, Small or even Extra Small are much better than Medium or Large sizes. Obviously, you need to cut off a fair amount of the side tabs that go round the patient's neck for use with a Reveal prop.
