Any Bond fans around?

Earlier this week, I picked up a Walther PPK/S semi auto handgun in 380 ACP. The PPK is main weapon Bond carries through the films, except for a few of the newer movies where he uses a Walther P99. The only significant difference between the PPK and PPK/S is the slightly longer frame on the PPK/S to hold an extra round.

I'm also going to be picking up a Walther P99 in a couple weeks. I've had one on order since March, but I found a nice used one I'll be getting instead. Same model P99 I wanted, though $200 cheaper.

The poker chips and cards are the same Cartamundi "Casino Royale" chips and cards used in the film.

I also have the keychain bomb from the Miami Airport sequence in Casino Royale, as well as the same Persol sunglasses (no picture) Bond wore while in the Bahamas (Persol 2244s 505/58). I wear the glasses almost every sunny day.

Yeah... Those are my car keys....

Thanks Carsten. :cheers

I've been getting pretty excited for this P99. After waiting seven months, it's nice to have one show up. :headbang

Well, I hope that Factory Entertainment will execute well on Scaramanga's gun.

That gun is the bomb.

Short of that, there's always Golden Warrior Lightan who transforms from a gold lighter!

Cool, about time some company picks up this franchise!
I know MR had it, but never did anything with it (and proceeded to have a slow, slow death afterwards).

I could only see myself getting the golden gun if it could come apart. If it were static, It'd be a no go for me.

Took a while, but finally picked up the P99.
The Persol sunglasses are on the side. I use them as "safety glasses" at the range.

The P99, if I recall correctly, was used by Pierce Brosnan. Did its use carry over to Daniel Craig at all? I hadn't noticed.

That P99 was a very interesting choice when I saw it. I realized that they were trying to bring Bond more up-to-date, The P99 doesn't seem to be as compact (and concealable) and elegant, but the PPK looks - by today's standards - tiny and girly-man. :lol

I was wondering. I think I heard something about The Golden Gun prop, that it was made functional, to be taken apart from the concealed state to the gun configuration, but when it came down to use it as a gun, they switched to a constructed gun that couldn't be taken apart, as they couldn't do assembly and functional in the same piece. Am I remembering it wrong?

Girly-man? Funny... was just watching the Firefly episode Out of Gas and the writer & director were talking about the gun Mal used against the pirates being too small and they couldn't understand why they didn't just riddle Mal with holes. I don't get that. It's still a lethal weapon and no one wants to die by being a foolhardy action hero doing crazy stunts and getting your friends killed. The fact that he's putting his life in the hands of a small, but deadly weapon tells more about his character than someone with a big-ass gun.

Yep, the P99 was first used by Brosnan and then carried into Casino Royale for Craig (honestly, not a fan of the Brosnan Bond films). Although many of the promo images for CR showed Craig using a PPK, he only used a P99 in the movie except for the brilliant opening gunbarrel shot in the bathroom. Then for Quantum of Solace, Craig went back to using a PPK.

Yeah, it may be small, but it's still obviously dangerous. The PPK is tiny, but practical for a British secret agent. Plus, Bond doesn't always need a gun to resolve conflicts. He's got his wits.

Most reviews I've seen of the PPK haven't been too positive for the American made ones (which is what I have). Most consider the original German PPKs to be much superior. Still love mine though. Shoots great so far, although I've only been able to afford one box of ammo! 380 ACP is fricken expensive!
