They called it Furnace chain, im guessing it is used to hold parts in place. I'm going to give it a spray of black and see how it comes out.

Hope this helps!

Can you photograph it next to a ruler for a size comparison?

Might also be interesting to paint it black.

With something like this that is subjected to a lot of wear and tear I would think a stronger color application that paint is required. I think it's called powder coating... but not sure.

You could also take it to a reputable gun maker / gunsmith and have it blued.

Darklord: I'll take some pic's with it beside a ruler this weekend.

I don't know if anyone has heard of a paint that dries and gives a rubber coating?!? I heard its used alot in painting pools but don't know enough about it.. That might work as well.

Sorry for the tardiness...

Here is a picture of the chain beside a measuring tape.

After looking at it... it looks alot smaller than the screen used chain. What does everyone think???

Possible dumb question, but is that measuring tape in inches or centimeters?

Where did you find it at? Does it have a part or model number? Looks pretty darn close to the real deal.

Home Depot... All i know is its called "Furnace Chain"... its in the section with all the ropes and chains that are on spools. I've heard a rumor that they stopped making this... but managed to find it.

It's not identical but it's really really close. It appears the found stuff is a bit smaller. In other words, in the same space from cape hook to collar, there would be less links of the right chain. Also there are little anglular corners on the real stuff, whereas the found chain is more rounded in appearance. I'll bet we're on the right track however. :)

I picked up a roll of this chain a few months ago from a fella in Austraila.
