I'm working with Fenix Props at the moment for a new leather vest. Im trying to get the seams on the sides placed as accurately as I can. This is my 3rd time trying to get them correct from FP so I want this one spot on.

Here is a wip of the vest from FP and they asked for my thoughts.

I feel they are not centered enough and the left hand seam would fall to far under the robe. And I noticed the right hand seam separation is to high. I mentioned this to FP and waiting on a response back. I'm looking for a second pair of eyes and opinion.

Here is the reference I used.

I also requested for a center seem. Contrary to what most say I do see a seam in the center.

Thank you.

Looking at that reference shot where you describe the construction of the vest.

I dont think the center panel is V shaped at all. It is just stretched on the top end due to Prowse's body shape. you can see the leather is stretched on the top and more wrinkly on the bottom.

It is. The seams separate from the quilted lines. That is clear in the picture and all others that follow. They angle or taper away from the quilted line half way up the vest and are not a straight line going up. That's a v shape.
