Never before seen!! ESB Reveal and make up head...

I posted this over on the RPF and thought I'd share it here as well...

The Empire Strikes Back reveal helmet and make-up head. The helmet is a TM ESB base and the head itself is my very first original human sculpt. As you may know, the ESB reveal differs from ROTJ and has really become a favorite of mine. There isnt alot of reference on this piece but after lots of study I came up with the following.

As time goes on I would like to make a new neck brace for this, this one is one of those kits off ebay which are great and I really like but it was cast flat and wants to go back to that shape putting pressure on the mask and spreading it.

So, what did I do for a face you ask??

And you guessed it....I thought I'd do a bit of a tribute (hopefully) to Dave Prowse. This is a work in progress with lots left to do but I threw a wig on there just so you can get an idea.

Awesome. Just awesome. And a very strong likeness for your first human sculpt. I'm impressed. And finally... someone doing the ESB reveal. I never had the guts to do it, but I've been wanting to see it done for several years... but this still tops my expectations and the helmet is about the best base for this! Altogether just perfect! :thumbsup

Thank you gents...its nice to change it up a bit. Carsten, thanks for sending those pics and for the input you PM'ed me with...it was helpful and appreciated.

@ Thomas, my though was doing a DP mannequin one day and having a bust be part of that, this way I figure it was like killing 2 birds since all I have to do is punch hair to hide the scars for a proper Prowse bust.

One day when I have time I guess! I have just 2 more loose ends to tie up this month and I will be hitting it hard. :toothy

That is brilliant, it's nice to see Prowse getting some recognition. To me, he will always be the real Vader. Excellent job on the head sculpt too and that helmet... :drool

So Mike do you have plans to show this to Dave Prowse either through photos or in person? It would be great to have a photo of Prowse himself next to it. Also cool because you've sculpted a young Prowse.

Thomas...I havent even thought about it honestly although a friend did mentioned he would show him at some point to get his thoughts. I think it would be cool as well.

After this month I'll be totally caught up on backlogged work so I can devote more time to my own projects and am looking forward to not having to stay up all night. lol

Wow, man, just wow! By far one of the coolest Vader replica projects I've ever seen! And it's awesome to see Prowse get some service as well. This is just awesome.
