Prepping a Rubies Vader lid for painting. I was planning on either using Tamiya Enamels through an Airbrush, or Enamel Spray cans. My latest thoughts are to spray the dome with a spray can, to get more even coverage, then use the airbrush for the face for more control.

I'm going for a ESB look.
Any advice?

I've always used rattle cans -- advice that I got from darthjones. Go to Pep Boys or whatever your local auto parts store is and get two cans of gloss universal black and you'll be fine.

thanks guys, I was leaning towards a spray can for the dome, should I use enamels, or lacquer paints?

I use lacquers myself. They can be a little trickier than standard enamels but I like the way the paint evens out when it cures. They also STINK and stink for a long time but I like the results I get.

I've seen a can marked as "Acrylic Lacquer" in an auto shop. Is this the same as Lacquer?
