I just scored this new kit :thumbsup , I hope I will get the time to put it together sometime soon, the amount of detail is great. By far the best stunt replica I have seen. Simon and Rob did an outstanding job, I think the images steak by themselves

Cheers

Thanks guys, you are going to love it, no doubt. There are a lot people on the forums keeping it in raw state. not my case, I think I will do something similar to the TE HDPE helmet I had once, actually that was my first attempt ever to paint a stormtrooper kit :)

what plans do you guys have for yours? Congrats!

Cheers

Wow. That's astounding - are they all like that??! Is there any reason that we haven't seen that level of detail in photos before or have I just not looked at the right photos?

Thanks Nick. I believe most of the PP RS kits are very close in details. I am very picky with small details to the point I think my face-plate is not the softest one but neither the sharpest one around, still I am very happy :wink:
I also took a sweet time with the pics trying to get the better lighting conditions.

As I said on pm, really looking forward to see what you do with this. What does pp stand for by the way?

PP=Polypropylene

Interesting that you think your pull is somewhat soft. I can't claim to have every picture that has been posted of the RS PP Helmet but of the 50-60 pics I've saved so far yours seems darn near identical to all of the ones I've seen.

Probably I did not choose the right words, the pull is very sharp, specially if you compare it with any others kit available. What I meant is that there are couple of detail not as sharp as would like too, but this just me being picky :lol

Don't get me wrong I love this helmet like you can't imagine. It is the best stormy kit period.
I hope you like your as much I like mine :wink:

Cheers

Is this then the same as the "hdpe" helmet on the rpf? What was the background to using the material? (or is there somewhere I can read about it more?)

Yes this is the same helmet shown on the rpf. The reason for using this material is because is the same one used on the 1976 original stunt helmets for the movie. At first everyone thought the plastic used was High-density polyethylene(HDPE) but lately people have more inclinations for the PP plastic tho both are very similar in many ways.
