Gundam, I'll buy a couple of pieces from ya!

As much as I appreciate the info JRX has put out, I'd much prefer to find someone who was selling off bits of the real mesh than have to buy the whole tape machine myself! (easier on the pocket).

As I say I'm not planning to build an entire ANH suit yet, but it doesn't hurt to have the original pieces in hand just in case I ever change my mind

I'nm sure once you get it you will get all the mesh sold -

Make a "sign up list" for the mesh (and limit it to 8 people)

It is best cut 11 "holes" in length and 10 "holes" in hight - that's the
size of the pieces I cut - that was enough for exactly 9 sets. if you cut
it smaller the buyers might have problems "fitting it" correctly ...

You can easily cut it 10 holes in lenght and 5 or 6 holes in hight and get
more sets that way, but fitting could get tricky then ...

Gundam, I don't see you having a problem selling off the mesh from your machine at all!

It'll be cheaper and eassier for people like me who prefer to to have the original items on their props where possible, to buy mesh from you rather than hunt down and buy the entire tape recorder.

It is so funny how it all becomes somewhat redundant. Someone shows the real deal, they dispute it, it is found to be correct, they shut up, don't apologize and wait till the next time they can shoot something down. Hell, they even disputed that the TMESB wasn't what it is. Part of it was of course to keep people from bidding on it, but alas it fell in the right hands. Sometimes the good guys win.

I'm not making an ANH Vader either, but I collect original found items used in the OT, so I'll be looking for the entire tape recorder.

na mal sehen also für mich hat´s das ganze nicht gebracht der Ärger mit naja Du weist schon Wem und auch so habe noch 6 komplette Gitter da liegen so Pralle sind die Teile bei mir nicht gelaufen.

On my search for the Tusks I came across something called "grease-nipples"

... and while I was researching on those I came across a few small red
plastic rings that look a lot like the ones belonging on Vaders Belt-Box knobs

... maybe I'm chasing a phantom here, but the coincidence is stunning ...

That is an interesting find. I tend to agree, Im not wholly convinced of the theory that the ANH knobs had integral metal flanges at the base. I think the kill-factor will be to determine if you can find them in the right diameter and center hole diameter.
