Thanks for sharing Nairod! :thumbsup :thumbsup After the long lost AT-AT Driver helmet being found, this is fantastic news about the ANH Vader helmet. It's also cool to see the other SW props and non-SW ones too.

BTW nice C-scar there  :toothy

It won't matter. Even though it's been repainted in that area and still visible won't make a difference to them. The ignorant ones will still continue to believe that it's "painted" on and not an actual raised artifact. :rolleyes Ego and pride is a bitch, isn't it?

It was bound to spill over there sooner or later anyway.

There's an ESB Solo jacket in the background at the 5:45 mark. Pretty amazing if that makes two of those in private collections, as Stephen Lane also has one. Unless it's the same one somehow?

Jeez...what a wakeup call. Just found this thread and now I'm staring at the pics with tears in my eyes.

Thanks a lot for sharing the link to the video. And it's good to see that the boys are back in town

Still trying to regain composure here...

Plaster cast: I spoke to Brian Muir in person about the plaster cast at STW celebration Europe about two years ago (and showed him pictures on my iPad), he said he has no idea what it is.

I heard a rumour that the plaster cast was once owned by a British company who was fabricating fibreglass boat hulls close to Elstree Studios and was displayed in their office for a long time.

Grey carpet faceplate pic: if I remember correctly, I discovered that picture together with some others showing this faceplate paired with an ANH dome during a visit of Elstree props many years ago. I was originally searching for some informaton about the Highlander SFX swords, particularly the cased Kurgan sword, which was made by Norank. Paul allowed me to flip through boxes of photographs, and I accidentally stumbled across the Vader pics. When I asked him about the helmet, he said it was part of his brothers (Nick Harrison) collection long time ago.

C-scar on this faceplate: matches the C-scar on the original TM faceplate displayed at Filmmuseum Frankfurt.

I am tempted to get in touch with Mr. Girod regarding a possible Sci-Fi exhibition here at Filmpark Babelsberg. My boss is toying with the idea for a long time, and I have just forwarded the link to Callisto Exhibition Group to his secretary. Perhaps we can set up a meeting in France...

And I have ordered that book via Amazon France, too...it should arrive here around January 26/28.

Do you guys think the TM faceplate originates from a mold taken from this ANH faceplate? Could it be possible that it was not entirely repainted for the footprint ceremony, but just the gunmetal areas?

Sounds like a great plan to me! :thumbsup
Let's take this one step at a time. This gem of gems deserves the best possible research.

Exciting times ahead

The white blobs in the upper and lower grills could be remnants of plasticine or masking tape from a molding process.

Well, look what I stumbled upon...
Patrice Girod (Naboo citizen), alongside Jon Bradley Snyder and Dan Madsen (the Kaadu Handler) as extras on the set of TPM, in Leavesden Studios (UK) in august 1997

As the Director of the Lucasfilm Magazine, M. GIROD was in the first line during the production on the Prelogy and yes, he was part of the cast of TPM ^^
