Hello everyone. I am a Star Wars collector and I have 3D printing as a hobby where I print and post-process helmets from the saga.

I have been researching many forums (both the Legion 501, among others). And reading comments from people who are experts in the matter of Vader in his different versions (Original Trilogy, Rogue One and Kenobi) that to date THERE IS NO 100% ACCURATE 3D MODEL, since many designers/modelers who offer certain versions of Vader "indicate that they are accurate" and according to reliable sources from members of the 501st they assure the opposite, that such versions of the character according to the designer DO NOT MEET THE STANDARDS OF THE CRL 501.

My intention IS NOT TO PRINT A MODEL AND HAVE IT APPROVED BY THE STANDARDS OF CRL 501, BUT SOME DECENT MODEL THAT COMES FAIRLY CLOSED ACCORDING TO THE VERSION.

Do you know of any model/designer that meets the requirements that I raise about Vader in its different versions?

Any information is welcome.

How close to accurate do you want? The general geometry only or do you want to include all of the imperfections that make each version different?

3D prints can not hold detail and imperfections that are replicated because 3d printing can not go that detailed. You will get a generalized cleaned up version from most models. Are you sure you don't want to buy a helmet cast from our artists? They typically have lineage to the originals with some detail(depending on which cast you choose).

3D scanning and printing can replicate the detail near exactly - on par with molding and casting. You just have to pay for the good stuff.

There is a project going on over at The RPF where someone is 3D modeling pretty accurate Vader helmets.

In terms of accuracy, what kind of spatial resolution are we talking about here? For example, what smallest size of detail can you resolve and then print?
