What ever happened to the original (screen used) ANH Vader costume?
Are all the parts gone or are there still some pieces left?

I'm of the belief that it is in the safe-keeping of GL or LFL.

A complete costume or "just" a helmet?

That's definitely more tricky. But a clue in the Eller interview definitely is pretty compelling that LFL at least got it back when the "Eller tour" was over. What happened after that is anyone's guess.

It appears to have the same smudge marks at the bottom right side of the neck as the Elstree Vader face - just from a quick view.

I had heard theres a complete ANH Vader, owned by a private collector in London.That was obtained after ANH was made back in the 70's.

I've heard that too... but wasn't that disputed to be nothing more than an unsubstantiated rumor in a thread on the RPF a few months back?

Any way to check up on this, whether it's fact or merely rumor?

That is not the original helmet (LFL pic) I dont think LFL knows the difference anyway. I am currently tracking it to the best of my ability. I can tell you its no longer complete, and the Smithsonian does not have it.

yeap, and what does the ANH vader do at a signing session, that only could have been taken place at no earlier than 1980?
It is not split up, and obviously not in the hands of a private collector

So maybe LFL still got the ANH suit?

Ah... very interesting. ANH Vader indeed. That dome really has a nice shine to it, eh!?

EDIT: Well, Kermit Eller mentioned that he wore the suit until '82... with some modifications done to it by the time of the ESB tours. What those "modifications" entail wasn't really mentioned...
