I would be very surprised if it isn't the same kit they're offering over at the FISD:

I heard its injection molded , lightweight and aimed at costumers. TBH its not as accurate as stated , the front end including the sight looks wrong to me. Not a bad price if accuracy is not your thing but you could build a pipe and resin one a lot cheaper and a lot more accurate ...well i could :lol

Yeah how is he getting past the VCR with these defstar!

I've no idea regarding the replica firearms law i mean even toys have to be brightly coloured or clear now.
The accuracy issue well they're supposedly for trooping not accurate display pieces , most trooping blasters have the solid filed front site it's not unusual, it just ads a durability as an accurate one made with anything but fairy heavy guage steel is likely to break off easily or crack/snap.
Hyperfirm ones for example are similar.
The injection moulding productions a bit of a surprise though as AA doesn't have the machinery to do that himself so will need an outside contracter, and setups of these thing aint cheap we're talking tens of thousands just to make the tools that without the materials cost, manufacturing costs, assembly costs, design costs..
Really injection mouldng's something normally reserved for production of very large volumes of items, hundreds of thousands of units even millions, to justify the cost of production.
It's also something that's normaly reserved for people who are expecting to make huge volumes of sale over a short perid of time.

Maybe their not injection molded then :lol I could have heard wrong !! A friend of mine did do some website work for him but he has given it up .
Possibly rotocasted or even slush molded maybe , if they are either of thses then they will not be that strong for trooping with really , but they arent a bad price for what they are :thumbsup
