Hey everybody,

Well as requested, I'm starting a thread here about the armour colour templates I've been working on. I've got three versions uploaded here. The first is the accepted ANH paint scheme, although I have seen some ANH producton shots showing what appears to be all grey shoulder bells. The other two versions are paint schemes that I have seen shown in both ESB and ROTJ. If people here have some comments or opinions about what they think the various film's paint schemes should be, please post them and we can try to reach a conclusion before I finish them up.

Let's hear your thoughts!

Cheers,

MJC.

Not having studied the armor in as much detail as the helmets (which I'm still no expert on, by far) I would say that these cover the paint schemes I am familiar with. Though, in some pictures (though most are b/w and may obscure the black/grey paint scheme of the ANH, it appears that the armor is all black, un-polished gelcoat.

I dunno... I'd say the top two are the most accurate to portray the various paint schemes for the tree movies, with the third template as an alternate version I don't recall having seen before.

Looking very good, btw! :thumbsup

Great stuff, I caught them on the RPF. The helmets give a fantastic guide additionally, especially for the people we dont have "eagle eyes".

I take it the last ref is ROTJ. Are the shoulder bells not in alignment with the armour as well as being all black. Just the comparison pic I get when Vader walks up the stairs after being kicked down them in ROTJ. His cape is exposed giving me that impression, I might be wrong.

They are looking very:cool: indeed. Great guide for anyone.

Not in reference to your drawings.
Although ESB and ROTJ both have gloss black finishes, the ESB looks done in Satin black then lacquered. Instead of ROTJ gloss black then lacquered. The difference is they are both a gloss finish in appearence but ROTJ is a higher gloss finish. The ROTJ finish is heavier making it softer than ESB as an overall.

What's next? Personally I would like to see you cover them all in time.

Suits
belts
chest boxes
gloves etc......

It's a pity I hadn't seen these years ago when I started out.

DarthBlade (not a user here) already has some nice templates for most of these items + descriptions.

Yeah, thanks I have them.

I have the variations on the others additionally. Just thought it would still be good for Cantina Dude to put them into one package. As visually they are great.

Hey!

Thanks everybody for the compliments! I'm so glad you all like them.

I hadn't really thought about doing the other components of the Vader costume, as they wouldn't really be paint scheme templates, but more detail templates. I suppose I could sketch up the other parts you mentioned, but it could take a little time. I'll get started on them later today, and see where I get to!

Take it easy!

MJC.
