Do anyone have more pictures and info on this particular LFL Archive helmet?

Well, as I brighten it up, the mid strip appears to be ROTJ.

Here's the suit, and with some width reduction, since the above screenshot appears to have made it wider than how it appears in real life.

You know, the parts remind me of the ROTJ tour suit that has been making its way around in LFL exhibitions.

Here's a comparison with the tour ROTJ I was talking about.

Image

Here's the one I was thinking of, and they don't appear to be a perfect match. The dome on the right looks like it still has a bit of ESB influence to it.

The masks look interesting though. The one on the left has its right tubes towards the camera, and the first 1.5" or so appear to have a darkening effect hints at repair tape like the one on the right. However, when comparing blurry images, you can never state thing as "proof", "evidence" or "fact" and have to allow for other explanations. In this case, we cannot quickly conclude that the darkening is due to a physical change of surface (e.g. tape) rather than reflecting off a dark surface, or a change in lighting.

Edit: the deformation on the helmet on the right by the lower tube - that turns out to be the elastic band.
Ah well... it was fun doing the comp! :toothy

Yeah, it really is annoying that the video quality isn't better. Thanks for the comparison, though I don't really see the similarities between the two.

Mystery Solved.

This is the same helmet and costume that has been on tour with the "Where Science, Meets the Imagination" exhibition. The giveaway, is in the breakdown of the clearcoat on the flat bridge between the tusks. There is a clear, definable pattern that can easily be seen, and is specific only to that helmet.

the picture was was probably taken a while ago, and the helmet is seeing a little more wear and tear since then. And the funky angle of the dome makes it sort of looked different but it's definitely the same helmet. Can't say so absolutely about the rest of the costume.

P.S. Mac, that is such a nice shot of that helmet. It is so sharp and clear, it almost looks 3-D. :thumbsup (To bad nobody had a feather duster.)
