Today I was lucky to receive my assembled Laws helmet in the post. Cheers Dan :salute:

It is so shiny and has sharp detailing. I was curious to compare it to some of my other lids as others have stated that there are differences between other helmets.

I think to a point this may be due to assembly. I do not feel my cap is as tall as others seen but the face does appear flared. I do like the flared face plate and have therefore compared it with my TE ABS which also has the flared look. I have also added my Set For Stun as comparison:

Just have to find the time to paint this up and replicate it on an idealised Set For Stun, though not as quick as Rolf at doing these :D

Nice lids

Ive not been particularly "up to speed" on this new helmet but isnt it based on the scan of the Dave M helmet as opposed to the Brian R?

I recall reading a thread about it on the RPF some while back about how the scan had been used withour permission after it had gone to Gentle Giant

Cheers

Jez

Cheers Jez,

You are correct, the origins of the Laws helmet come from the Dave M 'Set For Stun' lid, which offered out the most famous ears in the trooper world :blah

Aware or the controversy that surrounds its existance, but can not shed much more light than said in the thread from the RPF.

I totally agree with Firebladejedi that it it looks remarkably close to the TE Hero which is just as sharp :idea

Pretty helmet, that's for sure :wtf
It did come from the scan, the controversy was short-lived and defied no agreement at all. Both a gentleman and scholar, Laws is both as talented and straightforward as they come.

The face is noticeably smaller than the TE. But the rear cap seems similar. Strange....

So what is it about Laws? How could the Laws TIE be better than the SDS? Is it just as small as the TK?

Dan's stuff is great and he's a good guy.

That new trooper lid looks really nice (and would agree its an improvement on the SDS) but as far as the TIE is concerned - IMO no one has made one as accurate as SDS - however unpalatable some people may find that.

Cheers

Jez
