How do the straps attach to the ANH chestbox ?

I'm in the process of trying to put straps onto a chestbox. Can anyone help me regarding the correct way (screen accurate please) of attaching the strapping to the box . I think I read somewhere that d rings were used. Does the top strap go around the neck in a similar way to the strap on the x wing pilot chestboxes ?

Any picture reference that anyone may have would help me no end .

Well what I am able to say is that the top strap doesn't go around the neck....it goes over to the back on either side...

Look at Kev Vader's in the sale section to see how they go over the shoulders and attach in the back. It should point you in the right direction.

Here's a shot from the other side...

Instead of screwing right through the strap to the box, D-rings can and were used...

....attached to the box.

This is very true. One thing that eludes me about the ANH straps are that the screen straps are a tad thinner and have fine lengthwise stitching on both edges of each strap. Anyone else ever notice this? I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

BUUUUUUT - and this is big. The straps in the back cross one another like an "x" - this keeps them from sliding down the shoulders.

Get it? - right strap crosses over to the left buckle in back and vice versa.
