Hey all!
I thought I'd post a few pics of my first official 501st troop event (albeit a small one)...
It was this afternoon at a Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby event. The organizer of our upcoming local Comic Con (Motor City Comic Con... http://motorcitycomiccon.com/motor_city ... index.html) asked us to show up, cuz it was his son's event. He is very good to the 501st at the 'Con, so we obliged.

Check me out. I am the TALLER trooper LOL (without the platform shoes). These show the SDS armor and my counterpart's RT armor pretty well, I think.

That's me next to Boba Fett:

This was our adopted daughter for the day (one of them, anyway). We always knew she was there when we kicked something with our toes when we started walking. Can you say, "shadow?"

Getting a breather...and hoping that little girl doesn't look for us in our one safe place. LOL

That's looking really good. Congrats on the public appearance and you all have great armor. :thumbsup

I've found that it is easy to spot the SDS as it is the only armor I have seen with pinched in shoulder armor as seen on the original hero costumes in ANH.

I may dubious to all the claims of uber authenticity regarding the AA/SDS, but I have to say that, proportionately and artistically you do have one of the finest costumes I've seen, but it's also your physical form and how you wear it. It all looks just right!

Your armour looks great, and i like Rob's high heels, lol.

Is it just me or does the RT look alot like the FX armour?

lol thanks guys! yes I do like the armor...truth be told, aside from the helmet the shoulder bells are my favorite part of the sds, followed closely by the thigh pieces (nice and bowed). The thighs are, however, just the perfect length...I say "however" because when standing, they look just right. But it's all I can do to negotiate a set of stairs LOL And SDS finishes the edges of their armor nice and "turned-in" (slight rearward curve in profile) which makes for a terrific looking piece, but makes trimming it tough because you'd lose that nice detail (hope I described that correctly).
firebladejedi you know Rob??!! LOL I just met him yesterday...great guy. In fact all those guys are super nice. Very lucky to have them in my garrison.
Oh and thanks Mac--the benefits of being 150lbs and 5'-10"...the armor fits like a glove. Most of those troopers in ANH must have been skinny punks like me...

:toothy

this is classic...I love these pics. Me signing some of my many autographs:

and...one more sds/rt comparison:
note the pointy thighs!
