someone over the 501´st came up with the idea that fuse-caps might were used on the ESB & ROTJ belts- I acutally think he is right- look at the following ROTJ pic- on the left middle knob you can see a dent on the top, which can be also found on a electrical fuse. They may have attached just the wrong end on that only one..

Interesting. However it is been a fairly common perception that these are just small panel nuts such as those that would hold down an electrical panel. To my knowledge no one has tracked down the actual found part.

That would be also a way to go.
Nevertheless I think that the Russ ones (made for the ESB boxes) I have are a bit too small for my needs...

I haven't looked into them or done much research, but I believe they are a concave push button/knob and possibly made of plastic, not metal/aluminum etc. It's just speculation on my part though. Something along these lines, but in the right size and color:
