just saw that it is very very cheap and it might give me something to play about with for my first bucket build/paint.

Save your money and buy a good helmet and not buy such a crap only because it's cheap.
If you would burn your money for this Fx recast, you would have more fun the burning as with the helmet.

i am actually looking for something really cheap nasty and fugly to do a rework on kinda like my E11 on a budget project (see pic.. total cost of build for those who didnt see the RPF thread £12 inc stand with LED's) just to see if i can make anything half reasonable from a cheap "reject", on a budget (£50 maybe including all paint & parts), kinda polishing a turd if you like!.... unless anyone who makes em has a casting reject lying around they wouldent mind parting with for a low price and doesent mind someone "messing about" with it, (never hurts to ask lol).

Fiberglass??!

When it comes to stormtrooper armor (which is traditionally made out of vacformed plastic), fiberglass tends to indicate a recast.

Since the FX has been copied and copied...

This is a recast of a recast of a recast. :toothy

And with a bit of perspective distortion, it's starting to look like this:

On a happy coincidence note - I just today got my AP armor and helm kit from Mark. Woot happy days. Now I just have to wait for spring to start puttin' it all together (Vader takin' priority).

You should check out the FISD forum if you are interested in stormtrooper gear (tho I'm sure there's a few of us cross-forum members lurking about.) Head over to whitearmor.net there are many threads for beginners describing the best options & different kits available and helpful folks.

GL with your trooper build. And, yah avoid fiberglass - unless you never plan to wear it and only want something to display - even then this would take a looong time to even look half decent. FISD also has a For Sale/Trade Topic Area - you can maybe score some used stuff on a good deal if someone is upgrading or unloading.

 :thumbsup

Cheers,
- 'guts
