Anyone heavily into collecting 1:6 scale figures may find this interesting. Someone is making a set of sixth scale Death Star hallway pieces for diorama purposes.

Check it out:

I've never been much into Dioramas, but one that accurately reproduces a set from Star Wars, I could have a lot of fun with. I guess you'd need a 13-14 inch tall Vader to match this 1/6th scale.

I received a free small diorama background in a recent Entertainment Earth order, a simple cardboard fold-out of of a Walking Dead type scene.

Having no Walking Dead figures, I still managed to work in a couple of my Star Wars Funko Pop bobbleheads....

Yeah, Sideshow and Hot Toys produce Star Wars figures in that size. Actually... Hasbro does too, so it all depends on how accurate and expensive you want to go.

Very interesting! I started doing the same thing a few years ago in a much smaller scale but decided to increase it to 1:6 as it was easier to work on small details like control panels for walls and door frames and so on.

I never got very far though and shelved the project when I realised I had to revise my blueprints. They're mostly done so I'll get back to it one day..

Cool. Was your plan to make resin casts from your machined masters?

Hey mate,

Well the end result would have been panels in either resin or vac formed plastic. I didn't like the idea of potentially having to fill a lot of air bubbles in a lot of resin pieces and I thought that forming a good number of panels together in largeish sheets might be less hassle, and possibly cheaper in larger numbers? They were going to be small, 4" action figure scale to start with before I thought of switching to 1:6 scale, but I never got very far with it. Vac forming would have to be done into shallow negative moulds I think to get the sharpest detail. There are two little triangular bumps on one of the mid sized panels that are close together, so getting the plastic to pull into those properly would take some thought..
