Hi all.

I have a very nice don post classic action trooper bucket. The helmet is all original the stripes and all other detail are great.

Now having said this I've been toying with the idea of making it a bit more accurate ie. tube stripes, lenses, airators, paint ect.

My question is would this be foolish to do being original and in great shape, or worth the effort to improve the look of the helmet and satisfy my urge?

Any thoughts would be appreicated. :lol

I am working on that, posting pictures is something I've never done before so I'm trying to figure it out.

Heck this is even the first digital camera I've even used. I'll get it. :toothy

Waiting with anticipation. Well, depending on the quality of the mod work it will most definitely not lose in value compared to an un-modded one. Though, I'm bitten by the accuracy bug, so I will always advise people to mod their Don Posts! :lol

If it was mine i would leave it as it is they arent as readily available as they were and are collector pieces and just like anything else collectors like things untouched so i have to dissagree with nhm im afraid although the current value wont really be affected the future value will be no matter what the quality of the work done is
if its in good condition just keep it as it is no matter what you do to one of those its never going to be accurate

Well, the real question is: do you own it for yourself or do you own it to resell later? Everything I own is for myself, so if I have the question: "To mod or not to mod", then I won't really factor anyone else into the equation... I would just mod it, so I would be satisfied with owning it - if I wasn't satisfied with how it looked out of the box.

Well, it's up to you what you wanna do - there are valid reasons for both sides... so the choice is yours what you are going to do with your helmet. No matter what you decide, then the DP CA is no bad helmet in and of itself and I'd have to admit that I envy you. Not concerning your decision, but that you own a DP CA... and untouched at that... heck, with everyone modding... the few ones kept pristine and in their original state would sure gain in value as they are no doubt getting more rare! :thumbsup

Hi guys....I've been trying all day to post the pics of this helmet...( I say this with wide bloodshot eyes and drool running down my chin.) :conf

If someone could please give me a quick how-to it might keep me from killing myself....I'd really like to show you the helmet. Any help would be very appreciated.

Upload the picture to http://www.imageshack.us and paste one of the links into your post here. That should work. Though, in order to keep track of the pictures you upload there it may be a good idea to register for their service. :thumbsup

Post bigger pix!

I've had several CA Trooper helmets in the past....I'd say you're better off to leave it as is. I modified one with steel mic tips, new lenses, etc.....but honestly, it didn't improve it much. Leave it as is, and it'll probably be worth more in the future.

Don't worry about that... we all had to start at the beginning to get where we are now... just be patient.

I can guide you through it if you need help. Did you make an account on imageshack?
