Hi guy's this has probably been asked heaps of time's but I could'nt find it through searching.

I just wondered when the ab section of the original TK was re-worked?

here's a comp between screen used & an early AA offering that AFAIK is rotj based in parts?

just curious to find the answer, so I can sleep at night again.

Well there are a lot of more differences.

Don't worry, AA has told many shit in past, so i don't believe that any moulds he has came from a screen used armor or a screen used mould.
Neither RotJ nor Anh.

thanks :salut

I know there are heaps of differences but thought AA's was GF derived torso/ab & I thought that was ROTJ based?
Also looking at screen used ROTJ they look the same as AA's in the part highlighted.

I'm Just curious why the raised ab line shifted to centre between ANH & ROTJ, if ILM/GL just recast the ANH suit?

If the cod piece was cut on the one they molded for the RotJ, then that would explain why they misaligned the part, perhaps thinking that the line on the cod should line up with the center of the details on the ab section?

The misalignment appears on anh and I personally reckon it made its way to rotj aswell , I think it was on of the "clean up the moulds" modifications from the Matt G early days.
All replica/te derived armour has the aligned groin piece . Ive never seen an unaligned rotj replica costume , but the rotjscreen caps show them misaligned .

I've seen pictures of original RotJ armor that has the aligned cod piece. Could you show pictures of the misaligned RotJ ones you've seen?

So here's what I've been musing over for ages & I'm Just spit balling here to coin an americanism :conf

but could the ROJT have been pulled off the the Mark2 suit's that "could" have been made for ESB? essentially the extra bits that were cleaned up or made a-fresh? that Mr Mollo elludes to on SWH!

or is that a few leaps too far?

you do know that matts suit was rotj right ? so it was already aligned he did not need to mod that part ?

Well, there is evidence of a RotJ style suit being in ESB and it's likely one of those that was used to create the molds for the RotJ. Or... those molds making that suit were used to create the RotJ. It is unclear whether the work was done during ESB or in RotJ pre-production.

The ANH abdomen was sculpted and cast in two parts, so the line not matching up is a result of not having one of the sculpts in place on the figure to use as a guide.

The ROTJ armour had major surgery when it was made. It originated in 1980 during the production of ESB and then remoulded for ROTJ. Some more tweaks of the armour was made along with a few new sculpts, which is why they look slightly different from the one TE/CO owned (which was an ESB MKII)

There are several tells between an ESB MKII and an ROTJ. The arms are slightly different as a few details on the abdomen too. ALL ROTJ abdomen plates have the cod lines matching up and none are off-set.
