Hi all,

I bought this helmet a few years back on Ebay.
It was a pretty bad buy and I nearly ditched it.
All the resin was cracked, it had incorrect mouth(more incorrect than now :-), and in places the resin was so soft you could put you finger through it.
I didn't paint it:-0

Well I thought I would try a revamp and here it is so far.
I thought it looked more like a Jedi or tour helmet in shape(I have no idea what the original was cast off).
Out came the saw and some heavey chopping. After I had tried to get that really realistic weathering off(Joke).

The yellow is actually where I had to cut resin away as it was so soft..

I know its not completely accurate but with some proper trim and some FX lenses, a new mouth piece, mic tips, I think it will pass. AND PLENTY OF FILLER AND SANDING.....
So far they are just in place to get a feel.

I backfilled the mouth with mesh and after filling with car filler bagan to sculpt the mouth in Milliput.
Onto this the new voice piece will fit.

Any comments and views welcome, be honest.
I am leaving the earpieces as are but overall does in capture something of a Jedi look?.
Painting and correct stickers will bring it to life I thinks. And its fun making good something that wasn't :-).

Bext wishes
Graham

That paint-job certainly killed that helmet... and I agree, it looks more Jedi than ANH/ESB, so when painted in the proper style I think you'll have a great looking helmet there, which you saved from ugliness! :thumbsup

Good work so far.

It looks to me like a cast off either a Don Post Deluxe or Classic Action

Cheers

Jez
