That's one fantastic set of armor. Love the way it sits.

What are the shins made of?

Fantastic photos, thanks Jez, and thanks to the owner too!

It's interesting that the the mask doesn't seem to have had tusks fitted (unless they're gone and their holes filled and repainted over?)

Hi guys,

NHM - I'm pretty sure the shins are Black ABS.

Jeremy - I get the impression that the paint on the helmet is really thick with subsequent repaints that its possible that the holes have been filled - however the owner isnt sure

Like you guys I'd just love this complete costume myself and keep it the way it is on a mannequin on show in my Lounge - bloody cool

Cheers

Jez

It's really amazing how forthcoming and generous this owner is with photos of the suit. Just pure eye candy...so much to study about this suit...

So does the owner know who made the suit or specific components of it?

No idea who made it - however the address on the outside of the crate was ILM's old address on Kerner Blvd, San Rafeal.

Very, very cool. Personally, I would love to see some shots of the inside/backside of these pieces, such as the chestbox, shoulder armour, shins, mask, cod. This could help authenticating those items.

When I was visiting the archives I was told that the touring suits and replicas made for exhibitions or PH were stored at a different place to avoid mixing them up with the screen-used pieces.

This is one battle-worn Vader suit, isn't it? :thumbsup

I was thinking the same thing.

Jez, I'm sure you've passed on our thanks the the owner already but I hope they know just how grateful we all are that they've been so generous with the photos!

.... and on that subject  (if it's not being too pushy!) do you think they'd be willing to share photos of the back of the cod, and belt including the buckle??

The belt boxes intrigue me as well, is there a lid on them? it would be interesting to find what make they are.

Jeremy

I know this might sound corny, but I really enjoy this thread as it has everyone here! All the names I respect and consider as friends...and an amazing Vader find.

Really great pics Jez. I've been looking at the pic of the shoulder armor...can anyone tell whats holding the bells on. I can't quite make out what is sticking out on the right side.
