Thanks for pointing that out to me. I've got a couple other areas to touch up so I'll do that at the same time.

I couldn't wait any longer to see what the piece looks like with the helmet on.

The mould I've been working on for the helmet is not as good as I'd like so I'll redo that now I know what I'm doing.

Any way, enjoy.

I've got to admit, I'm thrilled with the results.

The results are indeed quite lovely! You could also use some car polish and buff it to a shine, to give it a really nice wet look. Sometimes some Pledge (for wooden furniture) will do the trick too. :thumbsup

The paint job turned out quite nice. I wouldn't change the paint on the cheek near the nose. As it is now it's pretty RotJ style.

Turned out real nice. Great job. :thumbsup Not sure of the rule of thumb for rattle can paint, but you may want to wait a while before hitting it with any polish. I know auto paint is around 90 days before you should put any type of wax on it.

Cor! Well there's your 'brighter Rubie'!! Great paint work, really makes a huge difference - as does leveling out the swoops on either side of the lower nose bridge to match. Nice one NiKon.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I would have posted earlier but holidays and work got in the way.

The piece is currently sitting in the living room (the only prop that has ever made it into the house) whilst I give the paint a few weeks to cure. Then I'm going to give the dome an extra polish for that high gloss look. I'd also like to make a small plaque for the front of the stand but at the moment, I haven't got a clue how to go about it.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of some accurate ESB tusks for when I make my one? I've done some google-ing but come up blank.
Thanks.
