Yup, you bake it.

Well... I wouldn't use the regular oven I also warm food in... I have an old, small oven just for this kind of thing... :thumbsup

Man as I'm reading this thread and seeing the progress I was getting really excited only to find that there hasn't been any update for over a year. Is everything ok? Your project really makes me miss the show. What a loss. Hope you haven't totally given up on this.

Also, since you are really gifted at using sculpey I'm wondering if you could tell us how it compares to non-sulfer clay. Can you use sculpey in the casting process? Does it play nice with different rubbers? When you had the torso laying on its back in earlier pages, was it allready baked or is it able to keep shape that well? Thanks for the Q&A!

Hobie

Since I haven't worked with anything but regular clay (have no idea if it is sulfur free) and Sculpey it's really difficult for me to answer your questions as to how it compares. It is way better and easier to work with than the clay I used to use.

Sculpey can be molded easily - just have to make sure the parts a baked well enough.

Don't work with rubber, so don't know.

Yup, he was baked.

Haven't given up on the project yet, but sadly the frailest part is his lower legs and feet... and that's pretty much the hold-up, 'cause I'm figuring whether I should find a way to support him or just cut off the legs and do them over. Also, been busy with other projects...

Think it's the first time I've shown it "put" together.
