Got a few comments about the shin armor as well. I don't currently own any or plan to, but if there is interest in such and if we know the most accurate fan (re)creations and I can get permission from that maker, I may get such scanned as well.

So, is there a consensus on who provides the most accurate fan versions?

Well... just for fun... and not aligned very well and with the limitations of having the two pieces together in that software, here's a muck-up of the progress of the facemask. I could probably do a much better job in photoshop, but I just couldn't be bothered.

Thanks for the continued interest and help, Jay.

Just for fun I tried putting the pieces together. Enjoy.

There were some issues with the previous model, so I'm currently refining it. It's a lot of hard work stitching slices together and have everything fit together and look good. Also working on improving the hardware, but for this project I think it is sufficient.

This is an unfinished work in progress shot, so please excuse the missing slices to complete the 3D file.

Enjoy.

To give it a little perspective... this is how the previous version was:

Hey Jay, any word on that thing?

Thanks for your continued effort. I'd definitely be interested in seeing what he actually has.

And here's a new update. The model is nearly finished now. Only missing the upper inner eye socket on the left eye (right in picture) and a filling of a hole on the brow... and then it's pretty much done and I hope the guy I have cleaning this up will be able to use this file, as the other was apparently impossible to work with.

It is not perfect, but it is good enough for the scaled Vader project.
