Honestly... and this is just me... but I'd think it would be a shame if casts were made off of these...

Sorry, I thought thats what people wanted.....

Yeah, I know.

Just wanted to have one for myself really... not so-much to resell.

I'm sure there are loads who'd buy casts, but that's just not for me. I'd love to own those original unproduced parts, but I would never have them molded and cast.

I acquired the parts and they are en-route to me as we speak. Will be interesting to see these up close and eventually compare them to my print project. I'll show pictures when I can.

This is a dream come true: to own something of the Marmit Vader.

They were hard when the tax man came and snatched $2,055.57 of my saved up cash from work last year. Apparently they'd made a mistake with my taxes, but regardless, I was the one to pay for it. THAT on top of being fired from that job was just an extra kick in the nuts I didn't need and nearly broke everything for me regarding my own Vader project and so many other things I had going. I've had to abandon nearly all my plans beyond the Vader project, but some money I had out floating found their way back to me and I must admit... the temptation of getting those Marmit parts was just too great.

But honestly... after this... I think I'm too jinxed to go forward with the other plans I had going... I just seem to bring bad luck to everyone working with me on those damn things.

The Marmit Prototype pieces up close and personal. It doesn't disappoint. There is a slight bend in the flange on the dome, and a small knick knocked off one of the T-grips on the saber, but other than that there are nothing to note.

And here's the face mask comparison between the Marmit and Kaiyodo.

Now I just gotta figure out how to properly display the Marmit. I think I'll display it with the Kaiyodo, once I've finished working on that. I'm just really happy right now. .)

Very cool! Congrats. Will you be trying to assemble and complete a Vader figure with these parts or display it as is?

Thanks. It will be displayed as-is. Won't do any trimming or anything of the excess vinyl either.

This is just so cool! :thumbsup

Congratulations....that was quite a nice move just to get the Vader parts. I'm envious as well. Thanks very much for posting nice images of the parts. I think probably I would mold them, make copies for myself, trim and make into a nice Vader figure. Imagine how much even one complete Marmit Vader copy would be worth? Wow. Very nice catch, Carsten.

Thanks guys. I've had this dream ever since before I got into the prop game, back when I was just a model kit enthusiast and didn't know that full scale props and helmets were possible to acquire, so that's a few years back. To finally have pieces of the best Vader never produced is just beyond my comprehension right now, and even though my scan project will have much more accurate pieces it is still overshadowed by this. It's just too cool... I can't fully understand yet that I actually acquired these.

I could probably make a killing selling casts from this, but that is not for me. Even though it was never produced, I just can't justify it to myself to mold the pieces to sell, not even mold it to just make one fully finished for myself. They will remain untouched, unmolded, and will be displayed proudly alongside the Kaiyodo vinyl kit.

Sadly, in my earlier accurization attempts back when I tried sculpting my way out of the inaccuracies I pretty much cannibalized both original Kaiyodo kits, so I've been planning on acquiring a third, as I'm rather saddened now that I now no longer have a complete Kaiyodo kit to display, as it was originally sculped. I'll then finish up the two cut up versions I have and sell those, so if anyone spots a Kaiyodo/Screamin' sixth scale Vader for less than $75 please let me know. Or if anyone sees someone selling parts, let me know, as I am pretty much only missing the arms on one of the kits to pull off that idea, as the rest of the kit is pretty much intact. Then I'll only need to finish up one in whatever way I choose.
