Sorry for the slightly OT discussion. I think the GH/Jeff/JB ROTJ's all have something in common with the Rubies statue mask. Again an educated guess.

Okay... I'll leave it then! :thumbsup

It is not OT if it is relevant to the topic! :lol

Sorry for the wait on the next batch of photo's, there are 9MB worth on the way to Darth Karo as I type this. They feature the JB incarnation.

Darth Karo - do you have any more pics of the GINO ROTJ from that run,
as I noticed the ones you posted where numbered 3, 8 and 9 ... ?

I'll check, but I think that's it. FO I'm checking now.

JRX, the photo's of the GH ROTJ on the green cushion were sent to me by GH himself, I think I do have some others from the same day, I'll have to check.

In the meantime here are some more pics. I believe the first is a screen used ROTJ and the second we are all familiar with. I'm not sure where the first one came from, but I believe it's authentic.

The first one is a ROTJ Stunt helmet iirc.

Hope the bandwidth holds up. :lol
Here are Fatherless Ones' second batch of pics and explanation.

These are JB's take on the ROTJ, notice the simalarities to the GH/Jeff and Rubies ROTJ statue.

I didn't get a chance to look at them till just now when I posted them, but it looks like a modified DP DLX.

It looks way different to a DP Deluxe, the only thing JB seems to have done to alter the GH/Jeff ROTJ was to change the two step mounting ring for a DP Deluxe style mount to fool evetybody.

A DP Deluxe face would take forever to restore the features to this standard.

Thanks for posting the pic's Darth Karo.

I'm about to go to bed for the evening, time to shut down for a while.

Don't get this wrong, but I just don't get why these Masks get "overcleaned"
so often ??? ... I mean they never where that cleaned up even in ROTJ.

Why all the straightening, all the smoothening, all the adding of Symetry ???
That is NOT the way the Original Vader looked or should look.

I'd have no problem if people called these "idealized Versions".
I think the grey JB Casting above has optically almost more in common
with the new ROTS Mask than with any OT Mask (no offense meant)

I believe one could create a pretty good Helmet out of a DP Deluxe, as it
might be soft, it might be slightly warped (especially the neck & mouth),
but it has just more of the Original facial features left than those very
cleaned up and overworked Helmets.

I do agree.

Can you see the similarities between the GH/Jeff, JB and the Rubies?

I notice the sharp corners where the lower edge of the cheeks meet up with the nose.

I like the JB dome.
