Anyone have the original auction pics of the ANH version now at the Henry Ford Museum?

Also public thanks to Dan for posting that pic, and for the helpful PM's!

oooookay!
We were back there trooping today and Dark Lord and I took lots of good pictures and lots of good VIDEO.
Dark Lord took the pics, and I took the video, since the camera I brought wouldn't focus accurately in picture mode.
Since I didnt want to lose detail with video compression, the videos are full size and are therefore large files. I uploaded them to my iDisk, which can be accessed here:

http://idisk.mac.com/withersfam-Public?view=web

Download the files for your viewing pleasure :thumbsup You will need Quicktime installed; they are .mov files.

Dark Lord will most likely post his pics soon. Enjoy! The weirdest thing we noticed today was the strange long pointed section in the robe behind ObiWan's head... :eek

I'm glad to say the photos turned out great. Give me a little time to get them sorted and uploaded.

Great footage Crow - thanks for sharing.

Its really nice to see that helmet again, when I had it in my hands (must be 4-5 years ago now) I was always tempted to yank off that patch like a band-aid :lol

Looking forward to the photos Dark Lord

Cheers

Jez

Here are the ESB Stormtrooper helmet shots. I don't have a pro account for photobucket so these are as large as they can be.

Taken from about 6 feet back:

Those turned out great, nice job. I brought my junky camera that day but at least i got some video.
We were talking also about the fact that there is no "tube bulge" (indent) on the underside of the right tube of the ESB bucket as is shown in these ANH pics:

I can see it in the side shots of that helmet.

From the down angle you wouldn't be able to see it clearly - I can't see it on my fiberglass SFS helmet when looking at it from that angle. It's most clear from the side, but there wasn't any direct side shots posted, but I can still vaguely spot it in the those posted.

You can see that the ear is just at the bulge:

The bulge is there, it's on all original helmets. The main reason it is not as prominent on this ESB is because the face is not positioned as central as other helmets, so the tube is covered more by the ear caps. Just look at the position of the trap above the eye, it's onto the eye a lot more than usual.

Great photos guys, very much appreciated!
