Thanks...don't get me wrong I love Gino's helmet...as far as fanmade helmets go. But there are some things people here take for granted as being like original ANH because it resembles ANH or has a few details like ANH...but it's more than that. I'd put the TM ESB and Darth Jones on par with each other as far as ANH faceplates go.

As you go down the lineage the nose/mouth area get proportionally smaller...in relation to the size of the head...more a feature of ROTJ as ESB is really very very close to ANH...

Thomas. I appreciate your analysis. I don't want to engage in a debate about the provenance as it is pointless as I cannot reveal the source which leaves little to be argued. On the other hand, were I able to, there would be nothing to discuss either as it's solid.
I can say that factually, your analysis is incorrect. If I were able to reveal the source, you would understand.
I've never seen another ANH helmet that is its equal. Perhaps the DJ, but then again the attachment ring on that helmet kills it for me.

Hey Tom, can you edit your post and delete my quote. I re-located it to a thread in the privilaged section.

Very nice set up!!! The paint job to add details is incredible and adds to that authentic look. You only need to get another dome otherwise it's near perfection. Thanks for the pics.

I'll defer to the other thread. If your helmet indeed has bulletproof provenance then that's great and congratulations. But provenance can mean many things. A tour helmet will have it's own provenance for example.

"bulletproof provenance" raises an interesting question. In the case of an ANH Vader what does everyone consider to be true provenance?

To be original it would have to be from the production. Can a replica have provenance?
