eFX ANH Vader?!?! WOW

I'm still waiting for the go-ahead to post some photos of the Luke X-Wing helmets - but they are looking absolutely brilliant, in a big way down the the extremely talented artist who's been doing the paint jobs. Theyre finished so will certainly be shown off at SDCC and I'm glad to say that LFL passed them 100% and dd not ask for any changes at all.

A huge amount of work went into the XWing detailing - and I provided a stack of shots of a couple of the original ANH helmets Ive had access to including measurements to make sure that the decals were as close to the originals as possible. However theyre NOT matching the decal finish which IMO is a good thing, since many of you will know that the ANH decals had paper-like matt finish which does not look so attractive close up. INstead theyre going for a more glossy finish and that looks a lot better. Ive not seen the internals yet but we've been tracking down the same mi and ear cups set so they can be replicated. Inside ther'll be full padding and it'll look stunning.

I'd love the to do a 3PO and raised this some time back. However I get the impression that its actually ore difficult to do and could require a specific change in the license terms (either do to it not being a wearable "mask" and/or the "Character definition" of C-3PO). Also, since Sideshow has done a full size I wouldnt be surprised if theyre doing a bust - although TBH their 3PO head was pretty poor!

After Vader and Xwings (and their likely derivatives) I dont know what EFX is doing but Ive been suggesting a TIE (and then AT-AT) for a long while, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I don't think it's lighting. It looks the same in all pictures; I think it's grey.

Aha....well better as i thought. This looks realy like good stuff.
Now it would be interessting to know how it looks under the dome. :cool:
