You're going to be waiting a long time.

Why would you be interested in TM's dome? You question his research and the original nature of his casting yet you asked for a copy. I thought your ESB helmet was from an original and the ultimate? I guess not.

For the 1000th time for the slow people, I never said the TM wasn't an authentic casting, just not a production original. If you read my initial post or in your case understood it, you would know that you couldn't tell the difference between a production original and a raw casting if they were both unfinished. And don't go there and say the TM WAS finished, because that would only hurt its credibility more because it had NONE of the finishings of the screen used originals.

At the time, I really wanted a TM dome even though they weren't laid up correctly, they were the closest I'd seen.
Luckily for me an better alternative source for dome became available very quickly thereafter and indirectly was a result of my search for a TM dome.
I was never interested in the faceplate.

Like your TK helmets....how many Gino or Gino/CRPROPS TK helmets are there out there? And you keep coming up with the newest "ultimate" version.

I know, they're the bomb right.

And a signature inside your helmets as well. Would you like to see a few photos of them?

Well obviously this "discussion" if you can dignify it with such a word is going nowhere. I'll point out something however, when I purchased my SDS hero helmet it cost me "only" $850. As we speak, you are attempting to sell a TK hero helmet...certainly another one of those super bumpy Gino specials....for a trifling $1000.

http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=38704

It seems all you do is try to embellish the "reputation" of your helmets just so as to sell them at overinflated prices. Talk about a real fantasy....

:rolleyes

I'm gonna jump in here for a moment.

What is truly telling is that the second post to this thread says something about sitting back and watching the fireworks - thats not what productive threads are about. This isn't some bar room where a few members are going to have it out and everyone else is going to watch - thats not what the Den is for.

This is everyone's one and only reminder to keep things civil and to refrain from personal attacks. I'm not going to say this generally or mask what needs to be said flat out - GINO and SithLord, please keep this civil and do not make this into a personal contest between the two of you. Just calling a spade a spade here based on the past 2 pages of posts.

If this thread becomes productive and talks about props that are out there great. If it turns into a disaster, it will end.

Thanks guys.

Not to continue the pointless bickering, but I'm going to respond to this comment in my own defense.
There are no helmets available. The helmet in that thread sold within 15 min of me putting it up. No joke. I just never marked it as sold. In fact, I don't think I marked any of the others as sold either.

I would say talk to any one person who owns a v.2 helmet and ask them if they think I embellished when describing them. Actually there is a thread on the rpf about them. Why don't you try pm'ing them and asking them how they think my helmet compares to ANY other trooper helmet out there. Almost everyone who has one of mine, has the other maker's as well.
And with AA offering them at $850, I think $1000 for one of mine is the deal of the century.

I do think this thread is productive.

Going back to the original idea of this thread;
I agree with Gino that people should be careful about how they label their helmets.
I am not calling anyone's research into question as I am not privy to that info.

But all you people questioning Gino's Vader helmets, Stop.

He is not shoving his helmet down anyone's throat and if you dont want to believe that his helmet is the best, dont.
He cant say "cast from an original UK helmet owned by John Doe" without revealing private info and frankly you people wouldnt believe anything he said anyway.
So please stop wanting to know so badly. Move along.

I love the authentic casts shown here. But I also see some shortcomings as well.
But its not a big deal to me.
I feel well informed enough to make my own choice of what I feel is the more authentic.
But those casts with the shortcomings, just make sure you dont glaze over those shortcomings too much so people wont be confused.

Not something you hear in polite conversation very often.

Personally I think this thread is on the road to nowhere.Image

I'm afraid it does look grim at this stage.

Hi Gino,

there´s truth on what you wrote, but i think if you are able to take a close look on vaders (as I did - being a sculptor over since for over 21 years now), understand the WAY THEY PRODUCED IT DURING THE SEVERAL MOVIES, and you are still completely interested in every little Darth Vader detail, you certainly can. There are peolpe out there, that sare that intererst and those abilities. Since the internet existed I´for instance am so happy, that i don´t have to feel alone any more.... So Gino ...try so see it from an easier point of view and be happy that some real "Vader understander" (won´t say the word Vader Expert...that is used most of the time by the wrong people) exists...especially on this forum!

Stop questioning????? :lol :lol :lol

There'd be little reason for this forum to exist if we stopped questioning these things.

Isn't this whole thread a little bit pointless?. it's now three pages of BS, handbag swinging and no new information

C'mon guys, you are surely better than that.

It is pointless, pure jealousy in my eyes.

Joe

Ps: Gino, with regard to your most accurate replica TK helmet ever, where did the mic tips come from? :lol

Not just mic tips but to claim that your molds are the only ones to ever touch the inside of an original helmet when they are copies of Matt's molds and not his actual molds which were destroyed. How does that work? How does a copy of a buck actually touch the inside of an original helmet? Have you ever held examined or copied an original?

Sorry for the OT but this has confused the $hit outta me for a long time. And since the purse swinging keeps on going I figured why not.

As for Vader helmets, believe what you will. Seems like there is only one person out there deluded in his fantasies, and he never shares any information or qualifies any research as being viable, so any opinion given and or stated as fact must be taken with a grain of salt.

You have been wrong and proven wrong far more times than you have ever provided accurate info but always snake your way out with some cunning linguistic talent.

I have nothing invested here and nothing to gain, so I can only state what I have seen and heard from you in my 10+ years in this hobby.
