Hiya Lads. Well, Alex contacted me last night, andf sent me some pics of the helmet. What can I say....it loooks beautiful, just like something you guys build. He is doing the chequerboard paint scheme, but his last job to fix is the grill. It looks amazing. I wishI could get the pics up on here, but they're on my phone. At last, something may turn out good... :cheers

Glad there's finally some progress on this. Has he given any reason whatsoever on the lack of communication these past months?

I'm not getting anything from that page either.

Carsten, I have not asked why it's taken so long, I am happy enough to know it's finally underway. What do you guys think?? :cheers

Looking great. With the black on you can really see all the warping on the face.

This face signature has a high # DPLX orgin written all over it. It's pretty much an easy fix..... may as well do it right.

The source of the original VM V2 was a 20th C, something a far bit better than a DP DLX, but the warping on this copy is likely caused by the crappy work done by the recaster.

Agree, Carsten, the lid is a vm02 recast, and the end product is not up to vm02 standards, but forget not, lads, this was almost tossed into the bin as an after thought!! Alex is fixing the neck, and the face was blacked up to bring out the blemishes, etc.

To say I am amazed and immensley pleased is an understatement. Being removed from the SLD is nought but a cough in a thunderstorm, seeing this done is the best news ever.

Thanks Alex, dear boy!!

Nice! Can you rephotograph it 6 feet back but zoomed in without any cropping? Have the mask positioned as if looking directly into the camera.

Och, yes, there are definitely ways but unfortunately they have to be implemented before painting. Well, at least the bottom lip looks a bit like a Don Post. I've always fancied the slight upward curve.
