Does anyone know if the Valspar: Kustom Kolor: black pearl, and the Valspar: Shimrins Pearls: black pearl are the same color? If not I just bought alot of the wrong thing.

From what I can gather the Shimrins is an auto paint, and the Kustom Color is a model paint.

The following post suggests that (1) it's not and (2) it's not as good as Kustom Kolors.

In that post, the poster related an e-mail from Valspar stating that PlasticKote was not a Valspar/House of Kolors product and suggested it was not of similar quality.

But here's where it gets weird.

The following suggests that Plastic-Kote is a subsidiary of Valspar!!

The best thing to do is e-mail them and find out.

Remember, as with all paints with metallic particles, it's not about the color as much as how it responds to the light around it.
