For $250, they are deffinately worth the buy!

I have two kits here with me now (one thats HDPE's helmet?) and I can tell you now, they are FLEXIBLE! And the overall feel of the plastic is really cool :)

One thing I don't get is the uproar over the incorrect colour. To me its still one step closer to owning the perfect replica... grey or not. It just leaves room for improvement.

Although I did notice that the face mould has been slightly tinkered with. To help with the forming process i presume. It shouldn't be noticable once painted.

Just make sure you get it pre-assembled. Seeing they are made out of .060 HDPE, they are super thin, and super flexible. Just playing around with one for 5 minutes, I found out real quick that they would be a bitch to put together. Unless you really know what your doing I'd have TE do it for you.

Hi fon and welcome to the forum... hope you like it here! :cheers

Would love to hear more about what was changed to the face. Not that it would change my decision of buying or anything... just to learn more about stuff I can't see myself.

Well, it is coming pre-assembled, though no painting or anything... just an assembled raw helmet, if you can call it that. I put together my own AP helmet, but it was pre-trimmed and pre-drilled, so it was pretty easy, though a complete bitch to get right at first until I figured out that I had to screw it together just one place on both sides and it made it all easier. :lol
Reason for buying with TE is also that he knows how to assemble the helmets correctly... so that is an extra bonus for me, since I've not studied as much trooper as I've done Vader. :thumbsup

Thanks, its a really nice forum you have here :)

The TE helmets generally come pre assembled, however he forgot what I had ordered, and subsequently I was sent the wrong ones.

The faceplate is from a casting of the SFS helmet I believe. Seeing it in person really confirms this for me. Its a bit wider, and softer looking than the TE1. Don't get me wrong though its still nice and sharp. Anyway as for the mods. The tears and tube creases, have raised lines in them. I'm guessing because these are the areas where the most strain would be during the forming process. Prevents the plastic from forming too thin. Although I'm deffinately not an expert on vacforming, so there maybe completely differen't reason as to why they are there(?).

I have pics, although I haven't been able to upload them.

Cheers

Interesting... so this is a HDPE SFS with a regular bumpy cap/back?

Very interesting... very interesting indeed! :cheers

If you have problems with uploading pictures, you can always use photobucket - unless you're already using that and me suggesting it just makes me look like an idiot! :lol

Heya, here he is! :)

Would love to, but I have just moved house. I took all my good stuff (props) to my folks house for safe keeping. All I have here with me now is your HDPE, which will be leaving me again 2mo. Sort of sux because I'm starting to have prop withdrawals hehe

Hopefully soon I'll be able to re-establish the prop room over here!

Cheers
