Send me some pics when you have them, I'd like to compare these to my SA gloves...

Stupid question maybe , but did all belts had this grooves in the belt?

Image

Thought the belts are the same as from the imperial officers.
But as it seems not, cause there are no grooves in those belts.
Also the disc is different.

Truth be told I don't know when it comes to the grooves in the all belts. All the ones I have good reference pics of do but I'm not sure about this guy. I'm going to order the largest version of this photo from Official Pix and see if I can make it out. This is the only example I can find of a belt that may not have the grooves though.

That pic of the officer belt is from the MoM exhibit in Sydney and it is actually grooved it's just that the flash washes out all the detail. Here's another shot of it from a different angle.

When it comes to the greeblie I wouldn't worry too much. There are a few different versions of Michell pulley wheels. The only reason I picked the notched one is because there was good reference of it from the MoM exhibit.

Also, we might look into how the dimensions of this belt compare to Darth Vader's belt as it has the same grooves along the edges. This might help put to rest the, IMO incorrect, idea that Vader's belt is some kind of rare WW2 German uniform piece.

The belt is approximately 2'' wide if you scale it off the greeblie and made of leather around 3mm thick. I did at one point genuinely believe it was 2.25'' but it is definitely not that wide. If it helps at all the grooves are not the same distance from the edge on these or the officer belts I have decent pics of and in some cases do not appear to run parallel to the edge of the belt. I'll get some illustrations up to show what I mean as soon as possible.

Lol, if you're talking about me I wouldn't say that. I just like looking at the pictures. :hehe-err

Six of one, half a dozen of the other with the belts. Both are drum dyed which I don't believe any of the originals were. VaderDave's has the grooves that the Bones one doesn't but VaderDave's also has an inaccurate bevelled edge for costuming longevity whereas Bones' doesn't.

Personally I'm making my own using a groover and some dye just waiting for the leather to arrive as I forgot to adjust the guide on the groover when I did the second groove on my first attempt. :banger

I have made some progress though and got the 1982/ROTJ ear greeblies finished for the timebeing. I may need to change the doorclips on them as the edges on mine appear too straight compared with the reference pic.

Which edge you mean?
On the beltbuckle?

Since i'm short before ordering a flight suit from a well known suit maker i need some help regarding the size of the suit and a mannquin. I dont have any plans to wear my suit. Its just for display and is planed to stand next to an ANH Vader and Stormtrooper. I would like to recreate the exact look of the Tie Pilots seen in the movie. Anyone have any suggestions regarding suit size and mannequin size and height?

I have the exact same problem regarding a planed At-At driver project. in the very few pics of this character it looks like a very little, small framed person is wearing the suit.

Any help would be really appreciated.
