Yes the shape of the PA ESB mask is really nice and no doubts it has great ANH detail.

Yeah, I agree. It's a fantastic faceplate. I just added another 68 pics. They are more of the same, but I thought I might as well finish off posting what I have. The pics have been added to the first couple pages rather than the end for some reason.

btw - I THINK that the cape may be a hero ESB cape and tunic. I think. It is the same one - I think - that was at Profiles in History a ways back.

I think it is the "no disintegrations" cape.

Any thoughts?

The PIH cape from a while ago wasn't original ANH, but I hadn't thought of it in terms of ESB. Might be worth a second look....

With kind permission from Pete to use his photos, thought I would post another comparison picture to check out more detail similarities between the PA and ANH. These two shots layer quite well (ANH over PA), taking into account the slight difference in angles but I've enlarged the ANH and positioned it to match as much of the bumps and scratches from along the lower eyelid-line to the bottom of the nose arch as possible - and the rest above and below that almost falls into place, even in the darker areas around the eyes.

Not a bad lineup, Wavey.

Here's a quick attempt at an overlay.

Thanks Mac, and they do look great side by side also. Of course, in my layering there is still several pixels worth of room for improvement with both angle and scale - same with the first large scale ANH screen I posted. At this size and clarity it's been a good insight as to how and why the tusk tubes snapped off in the way they did as you can see the obvious weak points in the sculpt/cast/paint between the two.

I was also interested in that scratch under the PA's left eye, at first thinking it was maybe deliberate to see what was under the paint, but when layered it looks (to me) like a weakness in the paint where over time it has just flaked off - you can see the bumps and dips on the ANH where it would be expected.

Something else stood out when comparing the teeth on the ANH, some of the marks on top of the teeth seem to line up with the mesh underneath. Would that be right?

On the surface they look similar, granted, but the transition to ANH-ESB is very different. It may not be as significant to some unless you really get into it in an over analytical way. While that's definitely it's foundation and they share much in common the differences stand out, other than a cleaned up ANH offering. That said, I like how some ANH details remain on the majority of ESB props, it's a carry over that has been tweaked naturally .
